A daring raid by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has exposed a cache of expired goods—valued at over ₦75 million—stashed in a Kaduna warehouse. Acting on a tip-off from a concerned citizen, NAFDAC operatives swooped on the property located at PP2A Bayajidda Street by Kano Road, New Ogbomosho Road, discovering repackaged expired biscuits, dairy products, soft drinks, detergents, and other unsafe items.
During the operation, agency officials caught workers red-handed, filling sacks with expired biscuits. The team also found “H-Pylori” test kits—potentially dangerous to public health—and confiscated them on the spot. Following the warehouse shutdown, NAFDAC arrested the managing director of the facility for questioning.
NAFDAC promises strict sanctions upon completing its investigation. As part of its zero-tolerance policy, the agency reiterated that no substandard or expired goods should ever be stored or sold within Nigeria. It calls on the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the nearest NAFDAC office.
