Operatives of the Ajuwon Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspected cult leader, Abiodun John, in possession of a firearm and live cartridges during a routine stop-and-search along the Akute/Olambe road.

The arrest, which occurred around 3:30 PM on Thursday, followed a public tip-off about suspicious activity involving two men in a Venza car with dealer number URSMOT AUTOS 4657DLA.

Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed that officers pursued the vehicle and intercepted it near Osaro Mobile Filling Station. A search of the car revealed two locally-made pistols and three live cartridges. While John, a 25-year-old resident of the Olori area in Akute, was apprehended, his accomplice managed to evade arrest and remains at large.
