Legal and human rights groups are calling for the swift arrest and prosecution of a suspect accused of raping a 9-year-old girl, Khadija Muhammed, in Galamawa, Dutse, Jigawa State.

The young girl, who suffered severe injuries during the assault in July, is currently undergoing medical treatment in Kano.

Barrister Aisha Ali Tijjani, an independent lawyer and lecturer at Aminu Kano College of Legal Studies, has vowed to ensure justice for the victim. Speaking to BBC Hausa, she said, “We will follow up on this matter diligently,” underscoring the legal community’s commitment to the case.

The Jigawa State Government also pledged its full support for the victim on Wednesday, promising to ensure justice prevails.
