Controversial Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington, has spoken out following his release from prolonged incarceration, assuring fans of a stronger comeback despite warnings from Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.
Darlington, who was first arrested for alleged cyber-stalking after attributing Burna Boy’s Grammy win to the influence of embattled rapper Diddy, endured a tumultuous legal battle. His arrest coincided with Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles involving sex trafficking and rape allegations.
Released on bail in October 2024, Darlington maintained his criticisms of Burna Boy, demanding compensation. However, he was rearrested during a November 27 performance in Imo State and detained at Kuje prison despite a Federal High Court granting him bail on December 23. His lawyer accused Burna Boy of bribing the police to extend his detention.
Following his January 21, 2025, release, Burna Boy, in a now-deleted Instagram post, warned that Darlington could face further legal consequences if he “misbehaves again.”
Unfazed by Burna Boy’s threats, Darlington posted a video of two rams fiercely battling with crashing horns, captioned: “I’m back. To those fighting, one step back is not running away—it’s to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
The post has since gone viral, with fans applauding his resilience while others anticipate renewed drama between the two artists.
