Stan Alieke, the legal representative of embattled singer Darlington Achakpo, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has announced his firm’s withdrawal from representing the controversial artist. The announcement, made via Alieke’s Instagram story on January 28, 2025, marks a significant development in the singer’s ongoing legal battles.

“I and my law firm (Law Capitol) have officially withdrawn from legally representing Mr. Darlington Achakpo PKA Speed Darlington/Akpi and cease to act as his legal attorneys,” Alieke wrote in the public post.

The split comes less than a week after Speed Darlington’s release from Kuje Prison, where he spent two months in detention over allegations of cyberstalking fellow musician Burna Boy. The case, which has drawn significant public attention, saw Darlington’s lawyer previously accuse Burna Boy of allegedly influencing law enforcement to prolong the singer’s detention.

While Alieke and his firm, Law Capitol, were instrumental in securing Darlington’s bail, the recent fallout raises questions about the singer’s next legal strategy. Alieke has not disclosed specific reasons for the split, but insiders suggest disagreements may have contributed to the decision.

Darlington, who has yet to issue a statement regarding his lawyer’s withdrawal, faces mounting challenges as his legal battles continue. The public awaits updates on the case, as debates around free speech, defamation, and the influence of powerful figures in legal disputes dominate discussions.

The drama has also fueled reactions on social media, with fans and critics alike questioning the implications of the fallout for Speed Darlington’s future both legally and professionally.
