Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has commended Leicester City for their spirited 2-1 comeback victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, ending their seven-match winless streak in the Premier League.

The Foxes’ triumph at the London Stadium marked the first time Leicester completed a league double over Spurs since their title-winning 2015/16 season.

Brazilian forward Richarlison put Tottenham ahead in the 33rd minute, but Leicester responded brilliantly in the second half with goals from veteran striker Jamie Vardy and Moroccan youngster Bilal El Khannouss to seal the win.

“Extremely pleased for Jamie Vardy and Leicester with the victory over Tottenham. The joy and sigh of relief I witnessed from the players, fans, and coaching staff filled me with so much pity, I just had to clap! Bravo, ‘La lotta continua’ to Ndidi and Co,” the ex-Ajax midfielder wrote.

Leicester’s win not only brought relief to the team but also reinvigorated their hopes of climbing the league table under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has been under pressure to turn the team’s fortunes around.
