A devastating collision on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway has left 10 people dead, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna Sector Commander, Kabir Nadabo, confirmed.

The crash occurred on Thursday near Kasari village when a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number GDW190XA collided head-on with a truck registered as SMK 141XN. The impact caused the bus to burst into flames, killing six people on the spot, while four others later succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

The FRSC disclosed that the accident involved 16 passengers—eight males and eight females—with wrongful overtaking and dangerous driving identified as the primary causes.

A joint rescue operation involving the FRSC, police, and military personnel successfully evacuated survivors and cleared the scene. Nadabo reiterated the need for intensified public sensitization on road safety and vowed to work closely with transport unions to prevent such tragedies.
