A 27-year marriage between Maggie and Felix of Lusaka, Zambia, is on the brink of collapse as Maggie filed for divorce at the Matero Local Court, citing her husband’s inability to satisfy her sexually and accusing him of neglect.

The couple, who share five children, have been facing a rocky relationship marred by financial struggles and marital discord. Maggie told the court that Felix, despite being employed, fails to provide food for the family, leaving her to rely on part-time jobs to sustain the household.

Adding to her grievances, Maggie alleged that her husband engages in extramarital affairs, often comes home late at night, and disturbs her rest by playing loud music.

Felix admitted to the court that a health challenge has affected his sexual performance but stated that he is undergoing treatment. He accused Maggie of exacerbating their marital issues by denying him conjugal rights and placing their 3-year-old child between them in bed to avoid intimacy.

He said, “After undergoing herbal treatment, I tried to satisfy her, but she still complained. Her reaction hurt me, and I decided to leave the bedroom for the living room.”

The court, after hearing both sides, advised the couple to seek reconciliation, noting Felix’s ongoing efforts to address his health challenges.

The case has sparked conversations about marital expectations, health struggles, and the impact of communication in relationships.
