Rapper Cardi B has reached a settlement requiring YouTuber Tasha K to pay $1.2 million over five years, following a defamation lawsuit. The agreement, approved on February 24, 2025, outlines a structured payment plan and includes a clause prohibiting Tasha K from making further defamatory statements about Cardi B and her family.
The legal battle began in 2019 when Cardi B sued Tasha K, alleging the YouTuber made false claims about her, including allegations of drug use and prostitution. In 2022, a court awarded Cardi B a $4 million judgment. The recent settlement addresses a portion of this amount, with Tasha K agreeing to monthly payments starting at $176,532 in the first year and increasing to $318,653 by the fifth year.
Beyond the financial terms, Tasha K has consented to refrain from making any “derogatory, disparaging, or defamatory” remarks about Cardi B or her family across all platforms, including her YouTube channels and social media accounts. This measure aims to prevent further dissemination of harmful content and protect Cardi B’s reputation.
Cardi B’s attorney, Lisa Moore, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “Today marks the end of a multi-year chapter of lies, deception, and fraudulent conveyance on the part of Tasha K.” Moore emphasized that the protective plan ensures Cardi B receives the compensation she is owed.
While the settlement covers a portion of the original judgment, Cardi B retains the right to pursue the remaining balance after the five-year payment period concludes. This case underscores the serious consequences of spreading false information about individuals, particularly public figures, and highlights the legal recourse available to those who have been defamed.
