Legendary Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has heaped praise on 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, comparing the rising star to former club captain Cesc Fàbregas.
Wenger, who nurtured Fàbregas into one of the finest midfielders of his generation, described Nwaneri as a “creator with special talent,” highlighting his ability to dictate play and produce decisive final passes.
“Nwaneri is more a creator of the final ball through his dribbling and the quality of his passes,” Wenger told beIN SPORTS after the youngster impressed in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Leicester City at the weekend.
The former Gunners boss also praised Nwaneri’s mentality, likening his composure to that of a young Fàbregas.
“Fàbregas was very strong mentally, but this boy looks like he is as well. When I look at him and his maturity, it’s difficult for me to think that he’s just 17 years old. The sign of a special talent is that they are ready early.”
Nwaneri, who has emerged as one of the most exciting young prospects in European football, is rapidly cementing his place in Arsenal’s first-team setup, fueling excitement about his potential to become a club legend.
