A viral post on X (formerly Twitter) featured a video of three suspected kidnappers arrested in Lagos, captioned: “Davido and two others apprehended for kidnapping in Lagos.” The misleading headline, which referenced the gang leader’s nickname, sparked confusion among fans, with many assuming it referred to the Grammy-nominated artist.

Furious over the attempted character assassination, Davido took to social media to express his outrage. Sharing a screenshot of the post, he warned against the consequences of false reporting, stating:
