Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has officially joined Nollywood, marking a dramatic shift from politics to filmmaking just four months after her removal from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

Kennedy-Ohanenye, 51, who was dismissed alongside four other ministers during a cabinet reshuffle on October 23, 2024, has now embraced the entertainment industry.

She was appointed minister in August 2023 but was let go barely a year later. A lawyer, entrepreneur, and politician, Kennedy-Ohanenye joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and became the party’s first female presidential aspirant in 2023, before stepping down in support of President Tinubu.
