The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command has announced that motorists and fleet operators who fail to comply with the installation of speed limit devices and proper passenger manifests will face strict sanctions from March 1, 2025.

Speaking at a media sit-out in Awka on Saturday, Sector Commander Joyce Alexander expressed concern over the low compliance rate among fleet operators, particularly their tampering with speed limit devices and failure to properly document passengers’ details.

Key Violations Identified by FRSC
🚨 Failure to install speed limit devices in commercial vehicles.
🚨 Tampering with installed speed devices to deceive enforcement officers.
🚨 Non-compliance with passenger manifests, especially omitting blood group information.

Alexander stressed that indicating a passenger’s blood group in the manifest is crucial for emergency medical care during accidents, as it allows quick access to life-saving treatment.

“From March 1, FRSC will commence full enforcement in Anambra, with special intervention patrols to check vehicles. Any fleet operator sabotaging speed limit regulations or failing to maintain a proper passenger manifest will be arrested,” she warned.

Alexander commended the Anambra State Government for its ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects, noting that improved infrastructure has helped reduce road accidents.
