Renowned American music producer Irv Gotti has passed away at the age of 54 in New York City after a prolonged battle with health complications.

Gotti, known for launching the careers of hip-hop icons Jay-Z, Ja Rule, and DMX, reportedly succumbed to stroke complications on Wednesday, February 6, 2025.

A Legacy in Hip-Hop
Born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr., Gotti rose to fame as an A&R executive at Def Jam, later co-founding Murder Inc. Records, which became a powerhouse label in the early 2000s. His influence shaped the careers of some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B.

Health Struggles and Final Days
Gotti had been battling diabetes-related complications, which led to a minor stroke in 2024. He was admitted to a recovery center in August, where he underwent treatment while relying on a cane for mobility. Reports indicate he had also lost a significant amount of weight due to his illness.
