Manchester United is reportedly preparing a significant offer to acquire Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the upcoming summer transfer window. The proposed deal includes a €40 million payment along with the transfer of Danish forward Rasmus Højlund to the Italian club.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in exceptional form this season, recording 14 goals and four assists in 19 Turkish Süper Lig appearances, and an additional six goals with one assist in seven UEFA Europa League matches.  His impressive performance has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Manchester United.

Napoli has set a release clause of €75 million for Osimhen, a figure that Manchester United is aiming to meet through a combination of cash and player exchange. Rasmus Højlund, who joined United for £72 million but has struggled to find the net in his last 16 appearances, is being offered as part of the deal.

The potential swap deal reflects United’s strategic approach to bolstering their attacking lineup ahead of the 2025/26 season, while providing Napoli with a promising young talent and financial compensation.
