Nollywood icon Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has shared how an emergency gallbladder surgery in late 2024 left her with scars, but not without a powerful message about self-acceptance and resilience.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, the actress reflected on how the medical procedure changed her body and how she overcame self-consciousness.
“Late last year, I had emergency surgery. My tummy was one of the best parts of my body, but it’s not so perfect now,” she revealed. “During a photoshoot, I instinctively grabbed my top to pose and heard a little voice saying, ‘There’s nothing to show anymore.’ But not me! What will shake my confidence has not been created.”
Despite the physical changes, Omotola remains unshaken, emphasizing that scars—whether physical or emotional—are just part of life’s journey. “I smiled and danced. I’m alive, it’s just scars,” she added.
Her post has sparked an outpouring of support from fans, with many applauding her courage and transparency in embracing body changes after surgery.
