Nigerian comedian Laff Ijuo Albert has successfully completed a grueling 50-hour stand-up comedy marathon in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest stand-up comedy performance by an individual.
The attempt, which kicked off on February 14 at Banex Mall in Lekki, Lagos, officially concluded on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in Albert’s career. His performance, aimed at raising $1 million for the Talent City Naija (TCN) project, drew widespread attention from fans and entertainment industry stakeholders.
Albert’s record attempt now awaits official verification from GWR. If confirmed, he will surpass the existing record set by American comedian David Scott, who performed for 40 hours and 8 minutes on April 30, 2013.
Sharing a video of the moment he completed the challenge on Instagram, Albert expressed gratitude to his supporters, emphasizing that the journey was both mentally and physically demanding but ultimately rewarding.
