The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Nollywood actress, Pat Ugwu, at the age of 35.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by fellow actor Emeka Okoye in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, where he expressed shock and grief over her untimely passing.

“Rest in peace, sis. Pat Ugwu. So we no get to work again? Death, why? Rest in peace, PAT. May your soul rest in the bosom of the Lord,” he wrote.
He further called for divine protection over Nollywood actors, stating, “God, please protect all my colleagues, especially those I’m close to. This unusual death rate is frightening. I proclaim life to everyone close to me in 2025 in the precious blood of Jesus. Amen.”
