Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been granted ₦2 million bail by Magistrate O.L Oke of the Ogun State Magistrate Court, sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, following his arraignment on a five-count charge of conspiracy, assault, possession of dangerous weapons, and public misconduct.
The Zazoo Zeh crooner, who was earlier declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command, appeared visibly emotional in court, shaking and shedding tears as the charges were read. He, however, pleaded not guilty to all allegations.

Portable’s Arrest and Court Proceedings
Portable’s legal troubles stem from allegations that he assaulted three officials of the Ogun Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA). The singer had gone into hiding after police arrested and arraigned nine of his associates, aged 19 to 28, on charges of armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and attempted murder.

The case took another twist when the Ogun State Government took over proceedings from the Commissioner of Police, leading to a 30-minute recess in court.

His defense counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, pleaded for his bail, arguing that Portable remains innocent until proven guilty and assured the court that he would not jump bail or miss any court hearings.

Strict Bail Conditions & Social Media Ban
Granting the ₦2 million bail with a surety in like sum, Magistrate O.L Oke issued strict warnings to Portable, barring him from making any social media statements regarding the case or engaging in any act of public disorder.

“If you leave this courtroom and go on social media to say anything about the court, you will lose your bail. If you cause any trouble or fail to appear in court, you will lose your bail,” Magistrate Oke ruled.

The court further questioned Portable’s mental stability, but the singer assured the magistrate that he was mentally fit and healthy.
