Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made a dramatic U-turn on his mental health status, telling a magistrate that he is mentally stable and healthy, just days after claiming he was undergoing psychiatric treatment.

Appearing before Magistrate O.L Oke at the Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Portable was asked whether he was mentally fit to stand trial. The court had raised concerns following his earlier social media outburst, in which he claimed to be a federal government liability receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.

However, when pressed by the magistrate, Portable firmly stated: “I am mentally alright.”

“I fear the government. I am a federal government liability. I am a madman and have a card from Aro Hospital that confirms I’m undergoing treatment.”

The Ogun State Police Command swiftly dismissed Portable’s claims, stating that his psychiatric status would not exempt him from facing justice. Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola responded:
