Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Yaba after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.

The embattled singer, who had been on the run following allegations of a violent attack on government officials, turned himself in on Wednesday, according to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.

DAILY POST earlier reported that the Ogun State Police Command declared Portable wanted on Monday after he and his gang allegedly assaulted officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development in Ota. The officials, who were on an enforcement duty, claimed they were brutally attacked, sustaining injuries in the process.

Confirming his surrender, Hundeyin stated that operatives from the Ogun Police Command would take custody of the singer and transport him back to Ogun State, where he is expected to face legal proceedings.

This development comes after Portable had gone on multiple rants on social media, claiming he was being targeted unfairly. At one point, he alleged that he was undergoing psychiatric treatment at Aro Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta, in what many believed was an attempt to evade arrest.

With his surrender, all eyes are now on the Ogun State Police Command to determine the next course of action regarding his case.
