Veteran Nollywood actor and former Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo, has accused President Bola Tinubu of exploiting the North to secure power while sidelining religious and ethnic diversity in governance.

Speaking during an interview on TVC News, Okonkwo claimed that Tinubu strategically used Northern support to win the presidency but has since relegated the region to positions without real power while consolidating authority within the Southwest.

“Tinubu has shown he does not respect our religious or ethnic diversity. He used the North to climb to power, awarded them positions, but kept the real power in his region,” Okonkwo stated.

In a bold assertion, Okonkwo argued that Muslims are bearing the brunt of Tinubu’s administration, despite his Muslim-Muslim ticket strategy during the 2023 election.

“I was telling my Muslim brothers, it’s not about religious sentiments. A man who disregards religious diversity will also neglect ethnic diversity,” he added.

Okonkwo further described Tinubu’s governance style as “cantankerous to the spirit of diversity”, accusing him of failing to create an inclusive government.
