In the early hours of Friday, February 28, 2025, a devastating accident in Awka, Anambra State, resulted in the deaths of two transport workers. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. at the Anambra Comfort Line loading bay along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.

Eyewitnesses reported that a Lexus RX 350, driven by a young man accompanied by a female passenger, lost control at high speed and crashed into a stationary Toyota Sienna. At the time, the driver and loader were preparing the vehicle for a trip to Lagos. Both men were fatally injured on the spot.

Bystanders recounted that the driver and his companion appeared unhurt and were promptly rescued. The driver attributed the mishap to brake failure; however, witnesses expressed skepticism, suggesting possible driver distraction or impairment.
