Faith Aluku Adeshola, a diploma journalism student at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, was fatally struck by a truck on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, while en route to campus on a motorcycle. Eyewitnesses reported that the truck collided with the motorcycle, resulting in her immediate death. Both the truck driver and the motorcycle operator have been apprehended and are currently in police custody.
Adeshola’s body has been placed in the morgue at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital. At the time of the accident, she was reportedly still completing her registration process for the academic term.
In response to the tragedy, Students’ Union Government President Comrade Haruna Umar urged students to remain calm, assuring them that both the polytechnic’s administration and law enforcement agencies are committed to ensuring justice for Adeshola. He also called upon the institution’s management and the Federal Road Safety Corps to install speed bumps around the campus perimeter to prevent future incidents.
