U.S. President Donald Trump has reignited his long-running feud with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, sarcastically referring to him as the “Governor” of Canada, which he once again called America’s 51st state.

Posting on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Trump took a jab at Trudeau while expressing support for the American hockey team facing off against Canada in a major tournament.

“I’ll be calling our GREAT American Hockey Team this morning to spur them on towards victory tonight against Canada, which with FAR LOWER TAXES AND MUCH STRONGER SECURITY, will someday, maybe soon, become our cherished, and very important, Fifty First State,” Trump wrote.

He went further, extending an invitation to Trudeau, stating: “If Governor Trudeau would like to join us, he would be most welcome.”

Trump’s Continued Taunts on Canada’s Sovereignty
This is not the first time Trump has mocked Trudeau’s leadership or suggested that Canada should become part of the U.S.
