Social media firebrand and outspoken critic, VeryDarkMan, has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is orchestrating a plot to arrest him over his criticism of the agency and its chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, February 27, 2025, VeryDarkMan claimed that an influential lawyer and a popular social media influencer recently visited the EFCC Abuja office, allegedly presenting evidence to implicate him. He stated that the duo submitted clips and a picture of him spraying money at an event, suggesting it as an opportunity for the agency to target him.

“EFCC Abuja, I heard you had two visitors today—one an influencer, the other a big lawyer. They brought clips of me and a picture where I was spraying money. They said, ‘this is the opportunity to go for VeryDarkMan,’” he alleged.

According to him, an EFCC officer reportedly agreed with the visitors, citing his frequent criticism of the commission and its leadership as justification for action against him.

“I know you’re wondering how I found out, but I have informants inside your office. I also heard you are planning to frame me,” he added.

His accusations have sparked widespread reactions on social media, with supporters rallying behind him while others question the veracity of his claims. The EFCC has yet to respond to the allegations.

As this controversy unfolds, all eyes are on the anti-graft agency for an official statement regarding the claims.
