Eric Chelle is not taking any chances ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on Tuesday. The Super Eagles head coach is expected to stick with the same starting XI that dominated Rwanda in Kigali, securing a 2-0 victory.
Barring injuries or last-minute surprises, Chelle will once again place his trust in goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who kept a clean sheet in the previous encounter. Defensive stalwarts William Troost-Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, and Bright Osayi-Samuel will hold their positions at the back.
In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi are set to continue orchestrating play, while wingers Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon will provide width. AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze, who had a subdued performance against Rwanda, is expected to get another shot at redemption.
