Tears, trauma, and unbearable pain. These are the words Joy-Smart Chinenye used to describe her harrowing ordeal at the hands of her husband, billionaire businessman George Obinna, who she claims manipulated the Nigerian police to have her arrested, tortured, and extorted.

On March 27, 2025, while many mothers celebrated Mothering Sunday, Chinenye found herself dragged from her home in Lagos by police officers in front of her children. Accused of an alleged debt, she was detained at the FCID Annex, Panti, where she says she was beaten and forced to transfer ₦5 million under duress. When she couldn’t meet further financial demands, she was reportedly transported to Abuja and locked up at the infamous SARS detention facility, Abattoir—known for holding hardened criminals.

Her testimony, released today, March 31, 2025, details nights of torture, coercion, and fear. She alleges that she was removed from her cell under the cover of darkness and taken to unknown locations where she endured relentless psychological and physical abuse. It wasn’t until human rights lawyer Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor intervened that she was finally freed in the early hours of today.

Chinenye’s claims paint a grim picture of domestic violence, betrayal, and abuse of power. Once the pillar behind Obinna’s rise from a struggling classroom teacher to a billionaire, she now faces what she describes as his merciless cruelty. She alleges years of infidelity, infections from his affairs, and unrelenting humiliation—yet she remained silent. Until now.

Promising to reveal more in an upcoming press release, Chinenye vows to expose the full extent of her estranged husband’s alleged atrocities. “The world deserves to know,” she declares.
