Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has launched a scathing attack on Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accusing him of corruption and a history of abusing women.

Speaking in an interview with Untold Stories host Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie, Atiku did not mince words when addressing the allegations of sexual harassment against Akpabio and the National Assembly’s approval of President Bola Tinubu’s state of emergency in Rivers State.

“Not only is he corrupt, but he is also in the habit of abusing women. I was not surprised that the state of emergency passed in the National Assembly because I know that the leadership is corrupt, and I have no apologies for saying that. They could do anything,” Atiku stated.

His remarks follow Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s bombshell accusation that Akpabio sexually harassed her and later victimized her for rejecting his advances.

Meanwhile, the political crisis in Rivers State has taken a dramatic turn. President Tinubu declared a state of emergency, citing escalating tensions between Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. The crisis, which spilled into the state’s House of Assembly, led to the controversial decision to suspend Fubara for six months and appoint a sole administrator to govern the state.

Despite a Supreme Court ruling on the matter, opposition voices, including Atiku, have condemned the National Assembly’s swift endorsement of Tinubu’s move, raising concerns about democracy and political interference.
