The controversy surrounding Burna Boy and socialite Sophia Egbueje’s alleged Lamborghini promise has sparked fresh conversations about transactional relationships in Nigeria, with reality TV star Victoria “Vee” Iye weighing in on the issue.

Reacting via a TikTok video, Vee criticized the growing culture of “sex-for-luxury” exchanges, claiming that many Nigerian women are in “survival mode” and relying on men for financial stability.

“Everything has become very transactional. We normalize it now and pay the price later. It’s demand and supply. There will always be men willing to pay for sex, and women willing to have it.”

She also raised concerns about the leaked conversation that started the controversy, questioning the motive of the person who recorded and leaked the private discussion between Sophia and her friend.

“That’s the devil’s friend. Who was the person recording the conversation? Reveal yourself.”

Vee acknowledged that the trend of monetized relationships isn’t new, adding that while some may criticize it, others accept it as reality. She, however, insisted that the situation is bringing out the worst in people and needs to be addressed.

The Burna Boy–Sophia Lamborghini saga continues to dominate social media, fueling debates about wealth, relationships, and morality in Nigerian society.
