Tensions erupted in Gombe State as a truck carrying Ramadan palliatives allegedly provided by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was raided by youths.

Seyi, currently on a tour of northern states, has been organizing Ramadan feeding programs under the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) initiative. While some see it as a humanitarian gesture, others criticize it as political optics aimed at consolidating influence in the region.

A widely circulated video shows a mob ambushing and looting a truck loaded with rice, sugar, oil, salt, and pasta. Reports confirm that of the two trucks carrying 3,500 cartons of food supplies, one was intercepted and ransacked by desperate youths before reaching its destination.

The looting has intensified debates on social media, with critics arguing that food aid is a temporary fix and that the region needs long-term empowerment programs instead. Meanwhile, the APC is yet to issue an official response regarding the incident.
