A serving corps member in Lagos, identified on TikTok as @talktoraye, has raised alarm over alleged threats from National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) officials after she publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for worsening economic hardship in Nigeria.

In a now-viral video, she voiced frustration over rising inflation, lamenting the high cost of living and questioning the government’s response to skyrocketing prices of basic goods. The corps member expressed dismay over her financial struggles, stating that her NYSC allowance barely covers her expenses.

“I don’t know if there’s any other president as terrible as Tinubu, but you are such a terrible president,” she declared, questioning why the price of eggs had surged from N800 to N6,500. She also decried the rising cost of electricity, security bills, and transportation, describing the economic situation as unbearable.

Shortly after the video gained traction, she alleged that NYSC officials began sending her threatening messages, demanding she take down the post. In another clip, she shared a phone conversation in which an alleged NYSC official berated her, saying, “Are you normal? Keep quiet and bring down the video you posted.”

As of now, the NYSC has yet to release an official statement addressing the allegations.
