A domestic dispute turned deadly in Ogun State as a 36-year-old woman, Josephine Isaac, was fatally stabbed by her husband, identified as Oju, during a heated argument in the early hours of Thursday, March 6, 2025.
The tragic incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. in the Agbure Community, Ogun Waterside. Eyewitnesses reported that the argument escalated into physical violence, leading the suspect to stab his wife multiple times in the neck and chest before fleeing the scene, leaving her in a pool of blood.
Concerned neighbors rushed the victim to Ibiade General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, revealed that the case was reported at the Abigi Divisional Police Headquarters by the victim’s younger sister, Isaac Blessing.
Upon receiving the report, detectives visited the crime scene, launched an investigation, and initiated a manhunt for the fleeing suspect. The police have assured the public that efforts are in full swing to apprehend him.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, strongly condemned the act, urging couples to seek peaceful conflict resolution and emphasizing the need for victims of domestic violence to seek timely intervention.
Authorities have called on the public to provide any useful information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
