Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has thrown her weight behind Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, hailing her resilience amid the ongoing face-off with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The political rift began on February 20, 2025, when Natasha and Akpabio clashed over Senate seating arrangements, leading to the Kogi Central lawmaker being referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions for alleged disorderly conduct.

Days later, Natasha fired back, accusing Akpabio of targeting her after she rejected his alleged sexual advances. The senator took matters further on March 5 by formally submitting a sexual harassment petition against him during plenary.

“We forget so readily how far we have come. We forget our lineage, history, and strength. We are told we are weak, spineless, and cannot think… They tell us to shut up and sit down. But do you not know that in nearly all species, the female is much more deadly than the male? We are the offspring of countless women warriors!” Henshaw wrote.

Her statement has ignited a fresh wave of discussions on gender equality and women’s representation in leadership, with many commending her for standing in solidarity with Natasha.

As the Senate drama unfolds, the case has become a defining moment for women in Nigerian politics, further amplifying calls for accountability and justice in governance.
