A magnitude 5.0 earthquake jolted central Iran on Friday, March 21, 2025, at approximately 10:23 a.m. local time, with its epicenter near the city of Natanz in Isfahan province—a site housing one of the country’s key nuclear facilities.

The quake originated at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), according to the Seismology Center of Tehran University.

Initial assessments reported no casualties; however, several residential buildings in nearby villages sustained damage, including broken windows.
