Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has declared that she will not apologize for accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, dismissing reports of an apology as false and misleading. In a strongly worded statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the embattled Kogi Central senator insisted she remains unshaken despite mounting political pressure.
Rejecting attempts to silence her, Natasha vowed to expose what she describes as a coordinated attack on her person.
“The desperation to silence me is palpable, but I will not be intimidated. My allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio were not made lightly, and I will continue to seek justice and accountability, no matter the cost.”
She linked her six-month suspension from the Senate to efforts aimed at suppressing her voice, but declared that it had only strengthened her resolve to fight for justice, transparency, and the rights of Nigerian women.
While political observers believe her case could reshape gender politics in Nigeria, others suspect a deeper political vendetta behind the unfolding drama. Akpabio, on his part, has remained silent on the allegations, fueling speculations on the next phase of this high-stakes political showdown.
