Renowned Nigerian food critic Opeyemi Famakin has slammed Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola over her public outburst against celebrity chef, Chef T of Diary of a Kitchen Lover.

Toriola had earlier called out Chef T on Instagram, accusing her of pride after allegedly ignoring a request for collaboration. However, in a video response, Famakin defended the chef, criticizing the actress for what he described as a misplaced sense of entitlement.

“We don’t do Chef T slander here. She’s a sweetheart who has made a positive impact on the Nigerian and African food space,” Famakin said. “It’s better to collaborate with people you genuinely like. The same actress who called herself a fan is now dragging her simply because she didn’t respond to her request.”

The controversy follows a similar incident involving award-winning actress Funke Akindele, who reportedly unfollowed Chef T and other influencers after they allegedly failed to promote her movie.

As the social media debate intensifies, industry observers believe the ongoing drama highlights deeper tensions between influencers, celebrities, and expectations around professional collaborations.
