The Nasarawa State Police Command has launched an urgent appeal for public assistance in identifying and reuniting two young girls found abandoned near Mararaba Junction, Karu Local Government Area.
The children, identified as 10-year-old Fatima Isah and 8-year-old Halima Isah, were discovered by a resident of Ungwan Gwandara on March 12, 2025, at approximately 5:00 PM. The concerned citizen immediately alerted authorities, prompting police operatives to swiftly respond and take the girls into custody at the Mararaba ‘B’ Division.
During questioning, the children revealed they were taken from Kasuwan Bera, Jalingo, Taraba State, by an unknown driver and forcibly abandoned in Mararaba. Their account has raised serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding their transportation and abandonment.
Police Call for Public Assistance
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has urged anyone with relevant information regarding the children’s families or how they were transported to step forward.
