Music legend Angie Stone, a trailblazing force in R&B and soul, has died at 63 following a fatal Sprinter van accident in Alabama, USA.
The accident reportedly occurred in the early hours of March 1, 2025, as she was leaving a performance in Montgomery. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by her daughter, Diamond Stone, who wrote on Facebook:
“My mummy is gone.”
Her publicist, Deborah R. Champagne, also confirmed the devastating loss.
Angie Stone, a three-time Grammy nominee, first made waves as a member of The Sequence, the pioneering all-female rap group signed to Sugar Hill Records in the late 1970s. She later became a defining voice in neo-soul, with timeless hits like “No More Rain (In This Cloud)” and “Brotha” shaping the genre.
