Panic gripped commuters along the Aba-Ikot Ekpene road in Ohanze yesterday evening as a fully loaded tricycle (Keke Napep) lost control and somersaulted while in motion. Miraculously, no lives were lost in the accident, though passengers and their belongings were thrown into disarray.
Eyewitnesses recounted the terrifying moment the Keke flipped, attributing the incident to possible overloading and poor road conditions. Passersby and other motorists quickly rallied to assist the victims, who reportedly escaped with minor injuries.
Residents have since called on authorities to improve road safety measures and enforce stricter regulations on Keke operators to prevent such near-tragic incidents.
