A yet-to-be-identified motorcycle rider tragically lost his life in a horrific accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after his bike crashed into a culvert and caught fire, completely burning to ashes.
Deadly Crash Near NNPC Filling Station
The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in front of the NNPC Filling Station, Ibafo, Ogun State, according to the Ogun State Police Command.
What Happened?
The victim was riding a yellow Quic motorcycle at high speed before losing control and slamming into a road culvert near the petrol station.
The impact ignited a devastating fire, leaving the bike completely burnt and the rider dead on the spot.
Emergency responders, including Motor Traffic Police (MOTOPOL) officers, arrived swiftly at the scene.
The charred remains of the motorcycle have been moved to the police station for further inspection by the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).

In response to the tragic incident, police authorities have cautioned motorcyclists and other road users to strictly adhere to speed limits and road safety rules to prevent similar fatal crashes.
