A young passenger, identified as Kabiru, 22, has tragically lost his life in a road accident near Bukky’s Court, along Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

The crash, which occurred at about 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, involved a Bajaj motorcycle carrying two passengers and a green and white timber-laden lorry with registration number LAGOS BS 385 KJA, driven by 71-year-old Wakilu Tanfeku of Oke Alafia Street, Ijebu-Igbo.

According to police reports, the motorcycle attempted to overtake the lorry but lost control, crashing onto the road. The impact led to Kabiru sustaining a fatal head injury, while the second passenger, Ayomide Oyadele, 21, suffered severe facial and leg injuries and was rushed to Love and Care Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Police authorities have since transferred the deceased’s remains to Ijebu-Ode General Hospital Morgue for an autopsy. Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command has warned motorcyclists to exercise caution while overtaking and to strictly adhere to road safety laws to prevent further tragedies.
