Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has heaped praise on Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman following Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Osimhen’s clinical first-half brace secured the Super Eagles’ first win in the qualification campaign, while Lookman—crowned Africa’s Best Player—provided a crucial assist in the match at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.

Speaking after the game, Troost-Ekong hailed both players as world-class talents but emphasized that the victory was a team effort. He commended debutant Tolu Arokodare and other squad members for stepping up and executing coach Eric Chelle’s tactics despite limited preparation time.
