Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has made it clear that Nigeria will settle for nothing less than victory when they take on Zimbabwe in Tuesday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Having reignited their qualification hopes with a 2-0 win over Rwanda last Friday, the Super Eagles are determined to build momentum and secure another vital three points against the Warriors.
“We are looking forward to a win. The three points are important to us. At this stage, we cannot afford to drop any more points,” Troost-Ekong told thenff.com. “Our aim is to take it one match at a time, collect three points here and there, and hope fervently that these will be enough to get us the ticket.”
With a packed Godswill Akpabio International Stadium expected to roar them on, Eric Chelle’s men are fully focused on delivering a dominant performance and tightening their grip on a World Cup spot.
Kick-off is scheduled for 5 PM Nigerian time, with the Super Eagles ready to unleash their attacking firepower in search of back-to-back wins.
