A 25-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Dauda Manu, was murdered in cold blood in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State, sparking a police investigation that has now led to the arrest of two suspects.

Manu, a resident of Unguwar Buba, Fulata Lanzai, was last seen on March 4, 2025, after picking up two passengers on his Boxer motorcycle. The next day, his lifeless body was discovered along a roadside near Dosho Village, bearing multiple injuries.

The Bauchi State Police Command launched a manhunt, which culminated in the arrest of Yau Buba, 25, on March 20, 2025, after he was found in possession of Manu’s stolen motorcycle. His confession led to the swift apprehension of Buba Muhammadu, 22, the following day. Muhammadu allegedly bought the stolen bike for ₦250,000, raising further suspicions about an organized crime network.

Both suspects are currently in police custody, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further legal proceedings.
