Helen Loveth, the woman who sparked controversy with a testimony at Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s Zion Ministry about acquiring a N500 million mansion, has admitted she fabricated the claim. The dramatic confession came after she was spotted selling drinks in Enugu, leading to an online uproar and her eventual arrest.
Initially, Loveth insisted that she was in the process of purchasing the luxury five-bedroom house and testified in faith. However, when questioned by authorities, she admitted she never owned the property and could not provide the address. “I did not build the house. We’re in the process of buying it. I have checked it, and the agent said we should go and meet the landlord. It is not mine yet. I don’t own any house,” she confessed.
Following the backlash, Prophet Ebuka Obi distanced himself from the testimony, stating he had no prior knowledge of Loveth or her claims. The viral video of her confrontation has ignited widespread discussions on social media about false testimonies in religious spaces, with many questioning the growing trend of exaggerated faith declarations.
As debates rage over the incident, many are calling for more scrutiny in religious gatherings to prevent misleading testimonies that could deceive worshippers. Meanwhile, authorities are investigating whether her actions constitute fraud or any legal wrongdoing.
