Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved the reinstatement of the suspended Ningi Local Government Area chairman, Mamuda Hassan Tabla.
Tabla was suspended from office last month following allegations of his involvement in illegal tree felling activities around the Lame/Burra reserve.
Though circumstances surrounding his suspension from office was trailed by controversy, the embattled Tabla had maintained his innocence and denied the allegations levelled against him.
The letter conveying the chairman’s reinstatement was signed by the local government council secretary through the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Reacting to the development, Tabla expressed gratitude to Governor Mohammed for treading the path of honesty, integrity and fairness in the decision to reinstate him (Tabla).
Speaking in Hausa, Tabla said his reinstatement had vindicated him. “After diligent investigations into the allegations raised against me, leading to my suspension from office, I have been vindicated and reinstated to the office to continue my official responsibilities.
“I have been warned to ensure that the issues that led to the whole drama do not repeat themselves. I am determined to ensure that things work out smoothly in the council. Measures will be stepped up to secure the entire area from intruders.”
He, however, urged his supporters to continue to be law-abiding citizens of the state, adding that they should remain loyal to Governor Mohammed-led People’s Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state.
“We will ensure that the administration succeeds and in sha Allah, gets reelected come 2023.
“I thank the governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, his amiable wife, our mother, the First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, the state chairman of the PDP, Hamza Koshe Akuyam and my political leader, Sen Abdul Ahmed Ningi.”
