Pastor Alfred Dabwam has won the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Plateau governorship ticket.
At the primary election held in Jos on Tuesday, 124 delegates unanimously affirmed Dabwam, NAN reports.
The poll was witnessed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, security personnel and party supporters.
Chairman, NNPP Governorship Electoral Committee, Raymond Ibrahim declared Dabwan as the candidate.
The flagbearer, a trained security expert, said he would use technology to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Dabwan noted that only a secured environment would attract investors and opportunities.
Plateau NNPP Chairman, Tokji Mandim said six aspirants indicated interest in the governorship ticket.
However, five of them, according to Mandim, did not pass the party’s rigorous screening.
