Alhaji Abdulrazaq Nuhu Zaki, Bauchi State commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has confirmed that security operatives rescue 69 abducted victims in the State.

DAILY POST learnt that they were freed on Saturday by security agencies and the vigilante.

He said the security operatives stormed the forest where the bandits kept the victims.

In a statement on Friday, the commissioner noted that Governor Bala Mohammed boosted the morale of the council chairman, vigilantes, traditional rulers, security personnel and all stakeholders towards eradicating banditry in their area.

He said Governor Bala led the battle himself, having visited the affected areas, commiserated with the people and encouraged them to resist the kidnappers.

The commissioner said the dislodgement of the bandits would bring big relief to people that had been terrorised, just as he commended the security agencies.
