University lecturers under the auspices of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have said that no amount of threats from the Committee of Pro-chancellors of State Owned Universities in Nigeria (COPSUN) can break its ranks.

ASUU made this disclosure on Thursday.

DAILY POST gathered that COPSUN had earlier said that the government should enforce no work no pay.

It said that the centrally agreed negotiations will not be binding on them to obey.

ASUU has, however, explained that no amount of threats from COPSUN can discourage the union from achieving its aims.

ASUU in its reaction, advised the Committee of Pro-chancellors of State Owned Universities in Nigeria to stop playing to the gallery.

The union in a statement signed by the Convener, ASUU Rapid Response, Professor Ade Adejumo entitled “COPSUN: Stoking the Blaze of Discord” stated that no amount of threats will make the union stop fighting for quality education and welfare of its members.

Adejumo maintained that ASUU is one.

He added that a thousand communiques and threats from COPSUN cannot break its ranks.

“No amount of threats will make the union stop fighting for quality education and welfare of her members.

“ASUU is one, a thousand communiques and threats from COPSUN cannot break our ranks and iron resolve to see this struggle and any other one in the future to its successful end.

“ASUU asked the pro-chancellors to provide evidences where they have improved the salaries and welfare of their school.
